After a fair amount of frustration, I’m trashing the Magic Mirror sock pattern. It seems to me that to make a lace pattern work, yarnovers shouldn’t get included in the chart stitch count – meaning, the stitch right after the yarnovers in the chart should be pushed to the right – since they don’t exist until you make them. Then again, I guess you can do anything you want to, if you want to drive the people who try your pattern insane. Unless it’s just me having these problems, since the thing has a 4.4 star rating.
Whatever. Moving on.
I really want to do lace for some reason, but the pattern probably won’t even show in this yarn. Hmmm. Screw it, I’m still gonna try. This is the first pair of socks I’ll have finished for myself, and they’re my third pair ever. I have a real problem with finishing projects, but I’m trying to get better. The whole short row heel not fitting me yet being in a lot of sock patterns issue I think has been the problem, with socks anyways. I want to see if I can sell anything too, since by all accounts I’m a great knitter.
I haven’t downloaded any suitable patterns, so I have to wait until tomorrow to continue. This is poppycock! I should have foreseen such a ridiculous situation. Since I didn’t, maybe I’ll take a sleeping aid. Or perhaps more helpfully, take a walk and throw this awful pattern into the river. Then again, I don’t want to burden the fish.

Whatcha say?
