I started a new project! Meet As Yet Unnamed Entrelac Scarf:
It doesn’t look like much now. Eventually it will look woven, but won’t actually be woven.
Oooooh, ahhhhhh.
You can’t really tell in the above photo, but there are sparkly bits in the grey yarn:
Yes, yes indeed, it will be fantastic. ‘Tis sock yarn. I love sock yarn. Both of them came from StevenBe Yarns in Minneapolis, and they call them Nerd Alert yarns. The grey yarn is called Serenity and the other is Cunning, both based on Firefly.
I’m using the pattern Danica found in Knitty

except I cast on forty more stitches than the writer did, which changed my numbers. The pattern is more of a guide for me, I guess. The pattern writer wrote some things that don’t make sense, as far as making a consistent fabric. Knowing more about knitting now, I understand why my previous attempts at this pattern never worked for me.
